Diana Caprice (ダイアナ・カプリス, Daiana Kapurisu) is a member of the New York Combat Revue's Star Division.

Appearance[]

Diana is an American woman with blond hair and blue eyes. She wears red glasses and a blue headband. She also wears a cyan dress with a doctor's coat over it.

Diana is seen using a wheelchair until she's able to walk again. Her Star Division uniform is light blue. As a member of the Five-Rings Warriors, Diana has the Five-Ring mark on her leg.

Personality[]

Diana is a frail girl, and has a deep love for animals, often feeding birds in Central Park. She's also kind-hearted as she seems bright and cheerful and helps Shinjiro overcome his sadness over not feeling needed in New York. She has a big love of Shakespeare's work, especially Hamlet as she got excited to see the show over at the Littlelip Theater.

However, under her soft-spoken nature, Diana is a highly depressed girl who has lost the will to live due her illness. She spends most of her time in her room waiting for death to come. Her depression over her forebending death has made Diana see it as fate. As such, she's become certain that living beings cannot escape death as fate dictates everything. When Shinjiro reveals he's been taking care of an injured bird that was destined to die, she becomes angry with him, calling him a horrible person. Her nihilistic views has made everyone around her (including Sunnyside) see her as a troublesome girl that cannot appreciate life.

After being saved by the bird in an insect attack, Diana was surprised that the bird saved her even after she failed and abandoned to saved it. Shinjiro then tells Diana to stand and live because she can change her fate with her own free will. She then joins in the fight against evil.

Her relation with the rest of the Star Division eventually improves as she befriends everyone else, especially Shinjiro who she grew very fond of. Because of this, she has learned to appreciate life and joy with everyone despite her foreboding death. After the fight against Nobunaga, Diana has grown strong enough that she decided to undergo surgery for her illness despite the risks that it couldn't succeed. Fortunately, the operation was a success.

Diana is also a vegetarian and dislikes the idea of eating meat, especially chicken as it reminds her of her bird friends. She's also not used to say insults to people due her soft nature. When she called Yumedono a slimy bug, both Sagitta and Rikaritta teased her over this with Diana feeling embarrassed.

Background[]

Diana was born on Jaunuary 12th, 1909 in Boston, Massachusetts. At some point, she developed an illness that made her use a wheelchair. Her parents then left in the care of Michael Sunnyside, a rich businnessman who lives in New York and leads the Little Lip Theater, which is the secret base of the New York Combat Revue, a military fighting group that fights against demons and other supernatural threats in the city.

Because of her unavoidable death, Diana remains cooped up in her room waiting for death to come, only going out to feed the birds in Central Park.

If the player chooses Diana as Shinjiro's love interest, it is revealed Diana is a reincarnation of the Nameless Nun, a member of the original Five-Ring Warriors who has been in a romantic relationship with Shinjiro's previous life Koya Hijiri before sacrifing herself to seal away Nobunaga.
